Lost Distance as Your Swing Slows? A Golfer's Jupiter One Review: "I'm a Believer!"

Lost Distance as Your Swing Slows? A Golfer's Jupiter One Review: "I'm a Believer!"

G.A.B. had bought several driver shafts looking for the distance he'd lost, and none of them did it. On October 30, 2026 he gave our JUPITER One five stars and wrote that "the added distance I've been searching for has become a reality." Then he ordered a second one for his mini driver. That's one golfer's experience, not a promise, so read it as a reason to test a shaft, not a guarantee of yards.

The review

"After having purchased multiple driver shafts and testing them out looking for some of the lost distance in my game, I figured I’d give one more a try. I ordered your SF Jupiter 1 in the “R” flex, because my swing speed has dropped over my later playing years. It’s quite refreshing to test a product that actually does what the manufacturer claims! My shot dispersion has improved, the feel is smooth, but what’s most impressive, is the added distance I’ve been searching for has become a reality. As Neil Diamond said, “I’m a believer!” So much so, that I just ordered one for my Mini Driver! Bravo Stead Fast!"

He titled it "I'm a believer!" and gave it five stars. He's a verified buyer, and the review is public on our JUPITER One Driver Shaft page.

What stands out in his review

He'd been through this before. "Multiple driver shafts" is the first thing he says. He wasn't a first-time buyer hoping for a miracle. He'd tried several and said he "figured I'd give one more a try." That makes his surprise more interesting, but it's also a reminder that the right shaft is a fit question, not a price or brand question.

He chose the flex because his swing slowed. He didn't pick the flex he used to play or the one that sounded best. He picked Regular, the "R," because his swing speed had dropped. On the JUPITER One, Regular is built for 90 to 99 mph. He doesn't tell us his speed, so we can't say where he sits in that range, and we won't guess.

He reports three things, not one. Dispersion improved, the feel is smooth, and the added distance showed up. Most golfers want distance, but the order matters here. He put distance last and called it "most impressive."

He ordered a second one. A repeat order is the strongest thing a review can say. He says he just ordered one for his mini driver. He hasn't hit that one yet, so we can't tell you how it plays for him.

What he doesn't say matters too. He doesn't give his swing speed, his driver, the shaft he replaced, or how many yards he gained. We haven't filled any of that in.

Why does a slower swing change the shaft you need?

Many golfers lose some swing speed over the years. A shaft that suited you at a faster speed can start to feel stiff and heavy at a slower one, and a shaft that's too stiff doesn't load properly. It usually shows up as low, weak shots and a feeling that you're working harder for less.

That's why we say to choose a flex by swing speed, not by age or ego. Two golfers who are the same age can need different shafts, and the same golfer can need a different shaft than he did five years ago. On the JUPITER One, the ranges are:

The shaft is 45.5 inches long in all four flexes. Flex isn't standardized across brands, so a Regular from another maker can play softer or firmer than ours. If you're comparing shafts, compare weight too. Our guide to finding your driver swing speed without a launch monitor shows how to get a close number from your carry distance.

Why do golfers go through several shafts before one works?

G.A.B. isn't unusual. Plenty of golfers buy a new shaft, don't see a change, and buy another. A few reasons are common:

  • They match the flex letter on the old shaft, even though flex letters mean different things from brand to brand.

  • Their swing speed has changed, but they keep buying the flex they used to play.

  • They change one thing at a time without knowing what their numbers are, so they can't tell what helped.

  • The shaft doesn't fit the head, or the weight is wrong for their tempo.

Write these down before you buy your next one: your current driver swing speed (and what it was when you bought your last shaft, if you know), the flex and weight of the shaft you have now, and your usual miss. If you can't find the weight, ask a fitter or the shop where you bought the club. Those three notes will save you from guessing.

Which of the four reasons sounds most like you?

Can the same shaft go in a mini driver?

G.A.B. says he ordered one for his mini driver, and we make a JUPITER One Mini Driver Shaft as well. A mini driver is shorter than a driver, so check the specs and the adapter list on that page for your head, and choose the flex by swing speed the same way. We haven't heard how his mini driver performs yet.

Why one review deserves a little caution

A great result can come from many things: a better fit, more confidence, the way the course was playing, even the excitement of a new shaft. G.A.B. gives no numbers, so we can't tell you how much distance he gained, and one golfer's result won't be yours. We're glad he's happy, and we'd rather you test a shaft than take our word for it.

If you want to try the same

Three things matter. First, pick the flex by swing speed, using the ranges above. Second, check that the adapter fits your head. You choose it on the product page, along with your hand and grip size, and we install the adapter and grip before the shaft ships. Third, know what happens if the flex isn't right. Our guarantee gives you 60 days from receiving your order to exchange it for a different flex. It's an exchange, not a refund, and custom shafts aren't eligible.

The bottom line

G.A.B. tried several driver shafts to get his lost distance back, picked a Regular flex because his swing had slowed, and says the JUPITER One gave him better dispersion, a smooth feel and the extra distance he was looking for. He was happy enough to order a second shaft. It's one golfer's review with no numbers, so treat it as a good reason to check your own speed and flex, not as a promise. If your swing has slowed, start there. The JUPITER One Driver Shaft is $149.95.

Frequently asked questions

Can a new driver shaft help me get back lost distance?

It can help if your current shaft no longer suits your swing speed. A shaft that is too stiff or too heavy for a slower swing can make shots low and weak, and a shaft matched to your speed can feel easier to swing. It won't fix a swing fault, and results vary from golfer to golfer.

What flex driver shaft should I use if my swing speed has dropped?

Choose by your current swing speed, not your age or the flex you used to play. On the JUPITER One, Senior is for 70 to 89 mph, Regular for 90 to 99, Stiff for 100 to 109 and X-Stiff for 110 to 129. If you're near the edge of a range, your tempo can break the tie.

Why did G.A.B. choose Regular flex?

He says he chose the "R" flex because his swing speed has dropped over his later playing years. He doesn't say what his speed is, so we can't say where he falls in the 90 to 99 mph Regular range.

Can I use the same shaft in my mini driver?

We make a JUPITER One Mini Driver Shaft. Check the specs and the adapter list on its product page for your head, and pick the flex by swing speed.

What if I choose the wrong flex?

Our 60-day Shaft Flex Satisfaction Guarantee lets you exchange it for a different flex within 60 days of receiving your order. It's an exchange, not a refund, and custom shafts aren't eligible.
